Holds and Requests

Request a book from any Memorial Libraries branch and pick it up at your preferred branch. The average delivery time between Memorial's campuses (e.g. from St. John’s to Grenfell) is 5–7 business days. We may not be able to deliver some special format items between campuses.

To request an item for pickup, sign into OneSearch and select Request to choose your preferred pickup location. We'll send you an email when your item is ready to be picked up.

Requesting a print journal article

If you’re located on a different MUN campus and you need an article from a print journal, you can request that an article be scanned and emailed to you. Request the journal article using a blank Document Delivery form. You’ll receive a PDF copy of the article in your MUN email.

Requesting an item from offsite storage

Some older and low-use items are kept in offsite storage. Request an item from offsite storage in OneSearch and we'll retrieve it for you. We make deliveries from offsite storage on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Requests made on the weekend are processed on Monday for Wednesday delivery. We'll send you an email when your item is ready for to be picked up.

Requesting an "on order" item

Items marked as "on order" have been ordered for the Library but have not yet been received. Unfortunately, we can't know exactly when when those orders will arrive. If you are not in a hurry, you can request the item and you’ll receive an email when it arrives. If you need it sooner, you can also place a Document Delivery request and we'll get it from another library.
