What can I request?

Copies of material delivered under our Document Delivery service are made in accordance with Canadian copyright law and our online subscription licenses. 

What can I request?

Types of material you can request through Document Delivery include:

  • an article from a journal or other periodical that we do not subscribe to or only have in print 
  • one book chapter 
  • multiple book chapters where amount does not exceed 10% of the book 
  • conference papers or proceedings 
  • DVDs and CDs 
  • music scores 
  • microfilm and microfiche 
  • dissertations and theses 
  • print books (or suggest a purchase) 

What can't I request?

Certain materials are rarely available for Document Delivery:

  • ebooks (if you need multiple chapters that exceed 10% of the book, you'll need to request a physical copy of the book, or suggest a purchase) 
  • rare and valuable books 
  • books difficult or expensive to mail 
  • reference material 
  • textbooks sold at the MUN Bookstore 

We'll let you know if we can't find an item for you. Other options, such as purchasing a copy of the item, may be possible.
