Originally published in 15 volumes between 1856 and 1881, these documents were collected and transcribed by Brodhead under an act passed by the legislature in 1839. Among the thousands of documents are many devoted to maritime topics: shipping, fisheries, trade, navigation and privateers. Each volume includes a table of contents and volume 11 acts as a general index to the collection.
