Consisting of official papers acquired by Charles Jenkinson (Baron Hawksbury, 1786, Earl of Liverpool, 1796) during his long tenure of various offices from 1761 to 1804, and by Robert Banks Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool, during the years 1801-1827, this collection provides information on shipping and trade in North America, Britain and the Caribbean, smuggling, imports and exports, customs revenue and the whale fishery.
