The statistics on the import and export trades were compiled at the Custom House from documents collected by that department. The accounts of shipping were compiled by the Board of Trade. The monthly statistics include imports of foreign merchandise, imports for domestic consumption, amount of duty received, exports of British produce and the number and tonnage of vessels, and the countries to which they belonged, that entered and cleared British ports.
A guide to the contents is included on the first reel.
