William Roscoe (1753-1831) was a prominent Liverpool merchant and opponent of the slave trade. Although this collection is not devoted primarily to maritime topics it does include a series of letters on Anglo-American trade relations and the slave trade, in the context of the strained relations that led to the war of 1812.
A guide to the contents is included on the first reel.
