Where are we?

We’re located in the G.A. Hickman Building (Education Building) with 2 service points:

  • Education Library – ED2030
  • Teaching & Learning Commons – ED5006/07

While we primarily serve instructors and students of the Faculty of Education, the MUN community and general public are welcome to visit us.

Our Collection

We have more than 30,000 resources devoted to teacher development including:

     •  current texts and curriculum materials authorized for Newfoundland and Labrador's K-12 schools;
     •  a continually updated collection of children's and adolescent literature;
     •  new and popular academic and professional research materials;
     •  academic and professional journals (in print and online);
     •  a selection of electronic resources for teacher training;
     •  audiovisual collection including DVDs, kits and archived VHS tapes;
     •  restricted-use educational psychology tests and inventories; and
     •  supplementary curriculum materials, including superseded texts and guides;

Education Library Facilities & Services

In ED2030 you will find:

     •  8 study carrels for private work;
     •  soft-seated reading and group study areas;
     •  1 Smart Interactive Flat Panel;
     •  6 Labnet workstations with Microsoft® Office 2013;
     •  printing facilities (B&W) accessible through Labnet;
     •  computer and printer for scoring select Educational Psychology instruments and inventories;
     •  a photocopier;
     •  laminating and binding provided at cost; and
     •  office supplies commonly used for classroom projects, sold at cost.

Teaching & Learning Commons Facilities & Services

In ED5006 you will find:

  • collaborative spaces with modern modular furniture separated by dividers;
  • two Smart Interactive Flat Panels;
  • two iMacs for video editing and statistical analysis;
  • a presentation practice area with a Smart Podium;
  • 4 Labnet workstations with Microsoft® Office 2013;
  • printing (colour and B&W) and scanning accessible through Labnet.
